How to Make a Ticket System in Discord (Free, 2026)
A ticket system gives every support request its own private channel between the member and your staff. It keeps #general clean, nothing gets lost, and you get a record of every conversation. Here's how to set one up properly.
How Discord ticket systems work
Discord has no built-in tickets, so a bot does it. The flow:
- A panel message with buttons such as "General help", "Report a member" and "Billing".
- A member clicks one, and the bot creates a private channel only they and your staff can see.
- Staff reply, optionally claim it so two people don't answer at once, and close it when done.
- A transcript is saved to a log channel and sent to the member.
Set it up in Discord
With Nodariq (free):
- Add Nodariq from nodariq.net.
- Run
/ticket settingsand pick your staff roles and a log channel. - Run
/ticket panel createin the channel members should use, like #support. - Add buttons with
/ticket button add: a label, emoji and which staff get pinged.
Prefer clicking? Everything is also in the web dashboard's Ticket panels tab.
Ask questions before the ticket opens
The biggest time-saver: ask two or three questions when someone opens a ticket, so staff start with the details. "What's your in-game name?" or "Order number?" or "Describe the problem." With Nodariq this is /ticket button form (Basic).
Tips for a support system that scales
- Use separate buttons per topic, so the right staff get pinged.
- Name ticket channels with the member's name, so staff can scan the list.
- Keep transcripts. They settle "your staff said…" disputes instantly.
- Watch first-response time. Members care more about a fast first reply than a fast fix.
Questions
Is there a free Discord ticket bot?
Yes. Nodariq's free plan includes a ticket panel with up to 5 buttons, staff pings, private channels and closing. Forms, claiming and transcripts are on Basic.
Can members see other people's tickets?
No. Each ticket channel is visible only to the member who opened it, your staff roles, and the bot.
Where do tickets go when closed?
The channel is deleted and a transcript (a copy of the conversation) is saved to your log channel and sent to the member.
